So begins our publishing journey!
It's been a very long time coming, and my journey has been complicated by mental health, loss of loved ones including two of my cats, which devasted me, and a stroke last September. I don't deal well with stress, you might say. In any case, after much wrangling, rewriting, and revision, our first trilogy is nearing publication. While I prepare the final edits, covers, and whatnot (insert marketing jargon here), we (myself as Heather Hallow and my wife as Phrixion) are releasing our chapters weekly to subscribers, with the opportunity to get first dibs on e-books, new artwork, and merch of all kinds. I, for one, am SO excited! Our first event is the Cupcake Craft Extravaganza on April 28th, in Hamilton, Ontario, and it includes a cupcake chunky book swap for mail in or on site participation. Wee! Artist's Tarot Deck, oh yes!
This summer's project is going to be a limited edition artist's tarot deck. My first one will be a Wild Spirits deck featuring the major arcana plus aces. I will be posting sample images soon, and pre-orders will follow. Anyone who pre-orders will be entered into a random draw for a bonus prize pack which includes a custom painted box, original deck artwork, and other custom goodies created especially for this promotion.
I'm aiming to have the official deck launch in September.
More details to follow soon. I'm just catching up on my trades and such before I buckle down on this. There are a few cards drawn out so far. I've got more deck themes brewing, so you can expect to see lots of these in the future!Status Report
I'm working on planning the GoddessCraft Autumn Craft Bazaar for Sept. 24th. Anyone who wants to come see my work and that of other pagan friends can find us in Toronto, ON at 109 Vaughan Rd from 11am to about 5pm. Refreshments will also be available. Proceeds will go to WCC and the animal rescue organization AVA.
Chels is with her parents for the summer, working to get the application in (yeah, still haven't managed that). Missing her like crazy. Working on trying to keep myself focused and steady, but it's lonely without her. It's hard to explain to people that I'm not just generally lonely, but I'm lonely for her specifically. Meh. Anyhow, it's pretty quiet around here, and sometimes I just don't feel like doing anything at all but zoning out.
Watched season 2 of Carnival finally. Ugh! Why couldn't we have more??? Love that show.

Working Away...
I've been going gangbusters on artwork lately. Just in the last few days I finished some ATCs, the maneki neko painting, a bellydance painting for the Secret Bunny swap, started a watercolour of the vampire Asher from Anita Blake, finished 2 necklace journal books, and started assembling Quaggy's bag from the completed squares I've done. I also have 2 chalices and a Totoro candleholder done for the upcoming spring bazaar I'm organizing. Whew! No wonder I'm exhausted!
Actually, my B12 deficiency has been playing up and it makes me nearly useless when it's bad. Can't function, just pass out and sleep, get up for maybe a couple hours and need to pass out again. So yeah, missed some work. It's not a case of just not getting up and going. I get completely ready and pass out again, so I have to be careful about going out on my own just in case. And my fingers get tingly or numb at the ends. Not fun.
Really need to fix up my website, reorganize another, add new paintings to my friend's site, and set up some items on our new etsy page. *falls over*
